Thank you for taking an interest in joining South East 4×4 Response, you are welcome to join as either a Responder where you own / drive a 4×4 or as a Support Member who doesn’t own a 4×4 or maybe doesn’t even drive. Whether you wish to join as a Responder or Support Member the joining process is the same except for Support Members do not undertake a driving assessment at the end of the training course.
1.Attend Meet & Greet
The Meet and Greet sessions take place at Mickey’s Diner on Bluebell Hill (A229) starting at 19:30 and are a chance for prospective members to ask questions of senior members of the group and see what is involved as well as for SE4x4R to get to know you.
On completion of the Meet and Greet an email will be forwarded to you with a link to the online application form, this link will last for 2 weeks.
2. Administration Check
At the Administration Meeting you will need to present the originals and colour photocopies of the following documents: –
- Vehicle MOT Certificate
- Vehicle Insurance Certificate
- Insurance Notifications Return
- Driving Licence and/or printed DVLA Check Sheet
- Passport or Birth Certificate
- Utility Bill, Phone Bill or Bank Statement (or documents to support vetting application) of less than 3 months old
- Completed Kent Police Vetting application form
You will need to email a digital passport style photo to the Secretary (in jpeg format).
3.Training and Evaluation
The training and evaluation is conducted over one weekend and subjects will include Member’s Manual, Health and Safety, Vehicle Recovery, Radio, Dealing with the Public, Map Reading, Required Kit, First Aid and Driving Assessment.
