At the 2019 Annual Briefing held at the Kent Police training college South East 4×4 Response Chairman Steve Short gave out certificates to members who had served 5 years volunteering and giving up their time to South East 4×4 Response. Well done to the members, some of which will be due their 10 year certificates in 2020!

SE4x4R were pleased to support KM Charity after seeing a last minute appeal on social media for help as they urgently needed more volunteers to marshal the route. We provided two volunteers and a vehicle for the event as we had other commitments that weekend –

Emergency Planning Award

South East 4×4 Response mentioned for their work on Christmas Eve 2013 when storms swept across the county, affecting more than 600 properties, destroying businesses and ruining Christmas Day plans for many. Of the villages and towns affected by the floods, Yalding was hardest hit, with the River Medway bursting its’ banks twice in two months and hundreds of homes left without power or water.

Unpaid specialists from South East 4×4 Response were deployed across the county to help where possible. They were dispatched to help evacuate vulnerable persons from their houses whilst those who were trained using chainsaws were sent to clear roads of fallen trees and debris. The team worked day and night during this busy time to rescue stranded vehicles and help those who were cut off in their homes.
